Aerospace SIG Project Engineering Intern
The Aerospace Special Interest Group (SIG) is a strategic technical function of NSBE helping to enable members and partners in Transforming the Aerospace Industry. We focus on equipping NSBE members and partners of all generations with tools to support innovating aerospace solutions throughout their lifetime through Engineering Research, Professional Development Forums, Outreach Activities, and Aerospace Policy Advocacy!
We provide industry-relevant experiences that challenge and sharpen one’s technical and leadership proficiency. Join us as we empower the generations of Aerospace Industry professionals, students, and enthusiasts.
Responsibilities:
To support the leadership and execution for the Aerospace Meetup Program, a program focused on providing Aerospace Specific programming opportunities to NSBE chapters
To collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas internal and external to NSBE to aide the Aerospace Ambassadors in generating a local network for NSBE chapters and partners
To maintain project files and supply necessary documentation to support SIG operations documentation
Develop tools to increase effectiveness of the Research Teams
Success will be measured on achieving milestones on time and within budget, leader evaluations, and customer satisfaction surveys
Organize, gather and analyze information for a variety of project management initiatives
Support SIG financials tracking and fundraising
Assist with the administration and configuration of Aerospace Google Drive
Assist in presentation preparation project management review (Systems Requirements Reviews, System Functional Reviews, Preliminary Design Reviews, Critical Design Reviews, etc…)
Support the Tracking and reporting on Aerospace SIG issues/risks, budget, and travel reports
Assist the SIG Director and other board members with day-to-day functions and to learn project management, systems engineering, and engineering research skills
Basic Qualifications
Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
Must have completed 30 hours of college coursework
Strong communication skills
Demonstrated ability to lead without authority
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
Time Commitment
10-16 a week plus a weekly development call
Considered an official appointment to the executive board
Remote assignment and must have a computer
