Localization Initiative

Aerospace Special Interest Group (SIG) Localization Initiative

Welcome to the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Aerospace SIG Localization Initiative created to drive local diverse communities and relationships that empower NSBE chapters and their collaborators to create strong Aerospace Networks that build a pipeline to the industry. The Aerospace SIG Localization Initiative is exercised through the aerospace sig divisions to provide technical and operational competency.

Specifically,  this localization initiative jointly generates aerospace political, social, technical, and economic relief for NSBE chapters that are developing aerospace information and programs locally.

(1) the JEDI Outreach Division hosts an Adopt-A-SIG program to deploy experiential learning opportunities for collegiate and NSBE Jr chapters to generate future local aerospace competency,

(2) the Technical Development Division hosts Aerospace Systems Forms in partnership with local NSBE chapters and diversity partners to generate long-term aerospace networks,

(3) the Advocacy Division institutionalizes state-specific aerospace and defense development initiatives through the aerospace ambassador's circle.

Localization Initiative Operations

The localization initiative's purpose is to provide technical, operational, economic, and leadership development support to actualize aerospace engagement at the state and local levels. Local NSBE chapters integrate the Aerospace SIG goals and programs into their chapter event plan. Event planning and execution are conducted locally, while advisement and coaching from the Aerospace SIG to reinforce aerospace localization.
